Different from our Essential Zinc encapsulated product, Zinc-Oxy Spray provides immediate zinc benefits through the nasal passages. Optimal Zinc-Oxy Spray combines two OHS formulas with a saline solution to deliver nutritional support for immediate relief to your nasal passages and antimicrobial nutrients into your lungs. This is our strongest immediate relief formula for nasal and lung nutritional support.
Both your body and pathogens require zinc for survival, creating a nutrient deficiency in your body as both you and the pathogen fight to monopolize the zinc supply. Zinc is found in cells throughout the body.

Zinc helps the immune system fight off invading bacteria and viruses. Some studies have found that zinc may reduce the duration of colds, and may reduce the number of upper respiratory infections in children.

Zicam used zinc gluconate (C12H22O14Zn) and zinc acetate (ZnC₄H₆O₄) as their zinc source. These are artificially created molecules using elemental zinc with carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen.

Our zinc is in ionic form and derived as ZN+ from plant sources. It’s a completely different source, and a natural one at that. We can definitely see how sniffing inorganic zinc compounds could have a deleterious effect on the nerve endings in the nose responsible for the sense of smell.
